HOLY CRAP I HAVEN'T BEEN ON THIS FOR HALF A YEAR!!!!!! Well I can tell you this much.......... busy, busy, busy is what we have been up to. Life gets busy when you try to juggle family, work and everything else in between. Im not sure where to begin.

Braxton will be 9 months on the 29th. He is weighing in at about 18 lbs. He is started offically crawling this month. He loves his freedom. He actually started scooting about 6 months old then went to the army style crawling(not much though). Braxton loves material, especially the really soft kind(like minky material) He is constantly putting things in his mouth. He enjoys pounding on the piano at grandma and grandpa Graffs house.
So who does he look like the most????? Mostly me BUT there are days he looks like his dad. Especially when he wears a hat. Braxton has been saying the "da" sound alot. We have been trying to say "ma" sound.

Mia, Mia, Mia. Mia turned 4 in October(pictures to come later) and had a swim party up at her "boyfriend" Taylor Stout's house!! Oh and her boyfriend is on a mission right now in Argentina. Mia LOVES being a big sister. She is always making Braxton laugh. She helps her mom and dad out when we need her. Mia has her dad's personality. Always making people laugh with her comments, stories and funny faces. Just this month she started gymnastics and is loving every bit of it. And will be starting preschool in January.

As for Ruston and I:
Ruston is now an Assistant Manager and Sunrise Tire and keeps busy. He is also an Assistant Scoutmaster of our troop of about 12 boys and has been in that position for about a year. Ruston had his last year of the dedicated hunter and had no luck. Close but not close enough!(I was wanting deer jerky soooo bad!!!)
As for me, I did something this year that Im proud of..... I took piano lesson!!! And I hope to continue them!!!! I still work at the scout store!!! And Im still in scouts in my ward. Im actually 2nd counselor in the primary(love my calling) so I can tell ya that I live scouts 24/7 it seems like.

Well this is kind of a boring blog. I know there is more to write but when Im at work doing this, I don't have much time. I will soon have more pictures up and more stories to tell. I hope you enjoyed this.

On Tuesday March 29th, I gave birth to a healthy little boy!!! Braxton Riley was born at 7:34am. Weighing in at 6 lbs. 15 oz. and 19 inches long.

Monday night I was having hard contractions. So Ruston and I headed to the hospital. On the way I had called to tell them I was on my way. They suggested I go home and wait till the contractions got closer. (yea right!) All through the night I couldn't sleep. I kept a close count to how close they were. By 6am the contractions were closer than 5 minutes apart, so I woke Ruston up and we headed to the hospital.
By 6:30am I was all checked it and hooked up with the baby heart monitor and the contraction monitor. I was already dilated to a 7. Now mind you I was a 5 Monday afternoon at my Dr. appt.(minor detail, the Dr. stripped my membranes) So things really were kicking in that night!!! By 7 Dr. Brad Thompson finally showed up to check on me and see where things were at and to pop my water. At about 7:15 my delivery nurse Melinda gave me some pitocin for the contractions to get closer. At that time, Melinda had me lay on my side to help with the contractions (also doing a little pushing). Another nurse(Carolyn) had come in and told Melinda that Dr. Thompson is going to go home and shower and come right back. Both Melinda and I at the same time said "NO, get him back here now" she is going to deliver this baby any minute now.
Finally, Dr. Thompson showed back up, and Melinda wanted me to lay on my back. I told her to hold on (contraction) as soon as I moved back, I had a hard contraction with a push and the baby's head was out!!!! Contraction two came and with a HARD PUSH, the rest of the baby was out!!!
While Braxton's nurses were measuring him, the Dr. had me do one more push to get the placenta out. With Braxton coming out so fast I did tear a little and had a couple stitches put in me.
After getting weighed a nurse asked me if I wanted skin to skin, at that time I was shaking soooo bad (literally my teeth were chattering) (it was from all the adrenaline my body just went through) (NO EPIDURAL) I told the nurse "not until I calm down" It took me about 10 minutes to stop shaking!! After that I finally got to hold my precious Braxton. (sorry, we didn't get a picture of us together!)
So I was in the hospital ONLY 1 hour and had the baby!!! My nurse Melinda told me that there were a couple of ladies in there since Monday afternoon and still hadn't had their babies, and I come walking in that morning and have a baby. I told her not to tell the other ladies. (they would probably be mad!!!!)
Braxton was "Sunnyside up" so he did get bruised on his face, but other than that he was good!!!
I am very excited to be a NEW mom. Mia LOVES being a big sister and is always helping out her parents. There is definitely no jealousy!! Which is a really good thing. We involve her in everything we do with Braxton. Mia always has to ask to see his eyes!! Its to cute.

New Cabinets

Here's the start to my new kitchen!!!!!!!!!!!!!Before this is what my counter space looked like(well it was covered in appliances) The shelves(shoe shelves) is what I had my plates, bowls and cups stored on!!
This is the counter that was next to the fridge. Ruston is strippen them and repainting all of the lower cabinets. Color...... Red Mahgonny(sp?)

This was the color but the tungoil Ruston put on was old and made it alot darker on the lower cabinets than the upper.

Gender of Baby

I had my ultrasound today!!!! Ruston and I were both excited to see what we are going to have. We were in there an hour because the kid didn't want to move.

When we got home Mia could care less on what sibling she was getting!!!

Halloween 2010

Back in March Uncle Alex bought this Princess Tiana Dress in Disneyland so for Halloween that's what she was with an addition, the sunglasses. So we called her the "Blonde Retro Princess Tiana" Mia loved it!!! BUT it was a fiasco getting her hair done and getting dressed. Ruston and I had to act like dad was going to wear it!!! It took us like 20 minutes. She didn't even want to get candy!!!!

Well here we are all dressed up for Halloween! Princess Tiana, Hot Pink Witch, and the Rock Climber!!!!

Mia's 3rd Birthday

Over General Conference was also Mia's birthday. We had the opportunity to go to Grandpa & Grandma Wards cabin in Mount Pleasant!
As we were gathering everybody, Mia kept asking if she could open her presents. I had to keep telling her we were waiting for Great Grandpa Ward to come in the cabin!! Lets just say she was a very IMPATIENT 3 year old!!! When everybody was gathered we started singing to her and she was ALL smiles!!! She knew she was the center of attention! She loved it!

She recieved the Tote 'n Go Laptop from Grandpa, Grandma Graff, Uncle Alex and Aunt Sheeshe(Alecia). The card game from us. And the Letter Fun Lotto from Grandpa and Grandma Wilcox.(Whom by the way came up with us!!)

Okay so I didn't get the best pictures of Mia! What can I do!! But Mia also got to help me make her cake. She picked out the Betty Crocker Confetti white cake mix, with vanilla frosting and sprinkles then the balloon candles!! She was really excited about her cake!

She also recieved a digital camera, books, and coloring books from mom and dad(us). And Tinkerbell pajamas from Great Aunt Tamie and family(who couldn't make it up)!

All in all conference and Mia's birthday was very good! And might I had RELAXING!!!!!!!!

Nascar Truck Series Race

In May for our anniversary, I gave Ruston Nascar Truck Series Tickets. We finally got to use them!!! So on Sept. 25 we went down to Vegas to see it. I had also bought Neon Garage Tickets. Thats were you actually get to see all the trucks getting worked on, listen to music, eat, (watch people!!!!) It was pretty awesome! Were we sat there was nobody right next to us. As you can see in the picture above, there isn't anybody behind.

The winner was truck #3. I don't remember the guys name but I do remember that he is a rookie and that was his second win!!!

There were a total of 36 trucks that started. By the end of the race only 32 finished!

Here is one of the only pictures taken from the Neon Garage! The top half of the trailers is where the trucks go. The bottom half is where the tools and things go or whatever they have set up!!!

Yep, its true. I am pregnant!!!!
On Monday August 16th is when we FINALLY told everyone! Of course that is my mom's birthday so I had to wait to tell her. I figured that would be her birthday present. She was all smiles that night!!!
That same day, I also found out that my sister in law is pregnant too!!!!! we are only 2 days apart!! I'm so excited. Lets just say I think we gave Sheri my mother in law a heart attack after finding out she is going to be a grandmother of two!!!!

Mia's room is finally decorated!!! My friend Julie Housley made the dots for me I think clear back in January. It's now the end of July and I just got them up. Thanks to my friend Tessa for helping me put them up!!!

Oh, I can't for get to say something about the blanket. Sheri made the blanket for her bed. It's alot cuter in person!!!

Mia had to get her hand in and help mom, while watching cartoons. Yes she has a tv in her room. What great parents huh!!!

We went camping while the Ironman Competition was going on!!! We went to a place called Little Creek. Which is out past Apple Valley. We only wenting camping for 1 night but it was worth it! Dacia and her family came along with Rustons parents.

This is a pond we found!! It was so beautiful, I couldn't pass up taking a pic!!

This is the best picture I got of Logan smiling. Poor little guy fell so many times!! From now on I call him "Captain Crash" On one of his falls, he has three lines on his forehead. It looks like someone took a fork to his head!!!!!

Mia just absolutely loves her cousins! Mikelle and Kassidee are so good to play with her!! Mia wouldn't let them out of her sight!!

On the weekend of April 16th, we headed up north for my cousin Benji's sons baby blessing. On Saturday afternoon we went bowling. Here is Ruston helping Mia bowl!!

Mia met her cousins Brylee(not pictured) and Kenneth for the first time!!! It took Mia awhile to start playing with them. At first when the started playing, Brylee would say "hey girl, come here and play with me" and mia would say " hey boy come here". It took awhile to learn their names.!!! In this pictue, Mia and Kenneth were sharing cookies!!! Cutest picture of all time!!!

Easter Weekend 2010

It's Easter Time!!!! Kassidee got to spend the weekend with us. So sunday morning Papa Doug hid all the easter candy and eggs all around outside. And Kass and Mia went easter egg hunting!!!!

Finally an Update!!

Well friends and family, we have so far, finally updated our blog!!!!!! Yea for us!!!! I forgot to mention a few things. First is, that Mia is potty trained and of course I don't have any potty pictures!!! Oh well! One day(back in January) we decided to go and buy her panties!! She even picked them out! and after that is history. She has been very good at telling us when she has to go. For maybe the first week we had a few accidents. I didn't do night time yet but I think after a week or so we tried and didn't have any accidents. We couldn't believe it! and now anywhere we go, she has to check out the bathrooms!(hhhmmmm, sounds like her dad!!) Seriously, we went to my nieces church today and I had to take her into the bathroom like 6 times!!!!!! She has done an awesome job.
With her being potty trained, my little bug is growing up toooo fast. I can't believe she turns 3 in October!!!
Second, it may not be a big deal but to me it is..... in November, Sheri got released as 2nd couselor in Primary and got called to be president of primary. I knew I was up.... 2nd counselor to be precise!!! Why, two reasons, 1st- 2nd counselor is over scouting... hhmmm what have I been doing for the last 5 years????? so the 2nd reason is because Im heavily involved in scouting!! Well Sheri keeped telling me that there is a Stake Auxilary leader confrence coming up and that I needed to go to it. I had to keep telling Sheri that the bishopric hadn't visited with me. Well two nights before the confrence the 2nd counselor came to visit me and offered me the position. Of course Ruston accepted the calling for me!!!!!! You know they always ask the husbands!!
Ruston is still involved with scouts. It's getting close to spring and summer so he will be gone on campouts!! And of course loves being a dad! :)

This is a nice little buck that me and my dad were fortunate enough to have walk to us. pretty intense we were out in the open, so we had to just sit as still as possible! Scouting for deer after the seasons is a blast I have as much fun taking pictures as I do actually hunting them during the season.

Ok, 2 years ago Ruston drew out for Dedicated Hunter! Which means he gets a tag every year for the next three years. And in those three years he gets two deer! For him he gets to do all the hunts!(which consists of: archery, deer, and muzzleloader) also, he has to do 40 hours of service! Which thankfully he is done!!!

This year I drew out. I was close a few times but never shot!

We hiked a ton!!! One day, we hiked 9 hours and only did 5 or 6 miles. I was a little discouraged when I found out I only hiked that much. It felt I had hiked 20 miles!!!!!!

Ya know, I don't know where the time went, but Mia is 2!!! We can't BELIEVE it!!!

We celebrated Mia's birthday at the Desert Hills Splash Park. It was a little cold to play in the water but Mia, her cousins, and her friends all had a great time!
One of the activites we did was decorate cookies.! They all had fun including Uncle Alex and Grandma "Ickie"(Vicki)!!!!!

Mia would never let Uncle Alex out of her sight!! What a great Uncle!!!!! Always playing with her niece.

Swim Lessons

Mia and I took the

parent/tot swim lessons over at the Washington City Community Center in July. It was for two weeks for 30 mins. As bad as I am I forgot the teachers name. If I remember I will add her name!!!!

In the class she taught us how to lay on their back, blowing bubbles, swimming along the edge, going under water, kicking in water and moving their arms(like the front stroke). Each lesson there was either a song to it or a game.

To the tune of "I'm a little teapot" was "I'm a little pancake" and that was for teaching the toddlers to learn to lye on their back and then flip over to their tummy. Mia has never liked lieing on her back in water till we were taught that song. And now she loves to lay on her back. All I have to do is keep singing the song!

For the "front stoke" for swimming we did tiger claws!! "tiger claws tiger claws scratch scatch scratch." And I would keep repeating that while she moved her arms.

We would do Motor Boat Motor Boat to blow bubbles and then "crash" and go under water.

Red Light Green Light was kicking her legs. Choo Choo was going around the pool's edge.

Mia loves to go swimming and her dad wants me to sign her up again for the fall swim lessons. I'm kinda not looking forward to this one cause its for 8 days but 45 min classes instead! I was literally drained just after 30 mins!!! Oh well Mia needs it!!

Mia's BIG Word

At my mom's house she still has a few of Mia's bottles. Well she hid them in one of her diaper bags hoping that Mia wouldn't find them. Well Mia found them. So on Wednesday of last week, Mia grabbed the bag (more like dragged it), had her sippie in the other hand and took it to gramma. She then opened the bag pulled out a bottle and in handing the sippie and bottle to gramma she said "trade".
How on earth did she know that word and what it meant????? I still to this day can't figure out where she learned to say trade?!!!!!!!

Mia Time

It's amazing how fast children grow right before your eyes. To me it seems like yesterday she was a infant, but to me she is now a toddler. Mia is starting to communicate very well. The words that she is saying right now is: please, cookie, mama, daddy, ruddy(her dads nickname!!) ,everybody(learned that one from aristocats!), hurry up, freezy(for a popsicle),doggie, taters(name of my parents cat), gramma, Ale(is Uncle Alex, she can't quite say the x sound), side(for outside), bird, quirrel(for squirrel), no, . Well those are just of few I can think of off the top of my head.

She also does animal sound. If I can ever figure out how to download my video tapes I can show you the recorded animal sounds. Here are the sounds she makes: dog, cat, cow, horse, sheep, rabbit, anteater, monkey, tiger, bear, donkey, snake. Mia will sometimes do the turkey, deer and elk sounds. I think her rabbit and anteater sounds are the cutest.

Well yesterday morning Ruston and I decided to take down Mia's crib. And I did. Grandma Sheri has a daybed in the upstairs toy room so I was able to get the mattress downstairs and the trundle bed but had to wait for the evening so Ruston could take apart the main bed frame. So last night we did it, brought it down to Mia's room and put it back together for Mia. And here are the pictures I took!

I think Mia was excited for her new bed. The thing I like about it is able to sleep with her if she wakes up instead of having her sleep in our bed and taking over!! YYYYEEEEAAAAA

"Camping Out"

Mia loves to play in this tent. Well last night I laid blankets down, put a pillow in, grabbed her giraffe from her favorite uncle Nathan and crawled in with Mia and she was out within a few minutes. She slept there till 4:30 this morning and came crawling into our bed and fell asleep with us!!!

Yellowstone Trip

Ok, so Ruston and I came up with the idea to take turns planning our anniversary date. So we take turns every two years. So with it being our 5 year this month,(it was on 22nd) it was my turn to plan it. And I wanted to get out of town. So I choose to go to Yellowstone. We had sooo much fun!!!!!!!!!

We left Thursday early evening and headed up to my aunts house in Lehi to stay the night. On Friday (anniversary) we traveled to Pocetello and had lunch with Ruston's cousins, then headed to West Yellowstone. Finally we arrived in West Yellowstone in the early evening, had dinner and relaxed. Saturday is when we went into Yellowstone and did the lower loop. Sunday we did the upper loop. On Monday we left at 5:15 am headed through Yellowstone and came out the south entrance to travel through Jackson and down that way. SO BEAUTIFUL!!

This was also the first trip we took without Mia. I was doing really good til I called Sheri Saturday night and asked how Mia was doing.

here's the story...... We have a picture book for mia that has pictures of the family so she can learn who they are. Well I guess sometime on Saturday, she found the book. Well the first picture in it is of Mia and I. Well when she seen it she started bawling. And when I was talking to Sheri and with her telling me that story, I started bawling. Yea you read it, I was crying like crazy. It doesn't stop there either. On Sunday my mom called me, and stupid me, I told my mother the story. Bad idea, I started crying again. Yea I definately missed my little girl.

So when we finally got home, she loved on me and I loved it!

Now these are just a few pictures we took. With Bison roaming everywhere, in this photo the bison could only walk on the road. I kept saying, "please don't hit my truck, please don't hit my truck" I treat my truck like its my other baby!!!!

Mammoth Springs is another place we went to. The picture of the trees in it, is my absolute favorite picture I took. This is up on the main terrace. It's called Canary Spring. It was a long hike up there, but it was worth it.

Of course the picture with the two of us is in front of Mesa Falls in Idaho. A little side trip on our way to Yellowstone. So pretty!

And last but not least, gotta have a picture of Old Faithful!! It was so cool. Ruston and I were there for like two and half hours!!!

We enjoyed our 5 year anniversary together. But we are glad to be back and see our darling little tink!

Pool Time

Summer Time is finally here!!! Mia would live outside if she could! As soon as she wakes up in the morning, she is at the door waiting to go out. And when we tell her no she starts throwing her temper tantrum. But after awhile we do let her go out and play.

On Friday of last week, grandma sheri bought mia a pool. She is loves it! We can't keep her out of it.At one point I did have her in a swimming suit, but it's a little big so she took it off. So I took her diaper off and she hopped back in it!!

Ruston and I bought her the two red chairs with the umbrella. She enjoys sitting in one side and then getting up and sitting in the other one! She needs a friend to come over and swim with her now!!!

Arizona Strip 4 Wheelin Trip

Last weekend we went camping with Doug's side of the family. We had Bill and Randee Sacketts, Chris and Wendy Wilcox, Lee and Pattie Tippetts and Lane Mangum and his wife.

I did find out that it was a small world. Why? because Doug's cousin Lane was one of my dads good friends growing up and Lane and his wife live in Lehi and is my Aunt Tamie's neighbor! It was sooo crazy!!!

Mia enjoyed the trip, she loved playing in the dirt. She even layed in it! Which was totally fine with me.

Mia liked to follow Uncle Bill. Wherever he went, Mia was at his heels. In the picture above, Mia was followed Aunt Randee up the hill a little way. One problem we did have, was Mia putting her toy bucket on her head. She almost fell in the burnt out fire at one point. So we had to hind the bucket!

Rudd's Turkey Hunt 2009

I had a great time turkey huntin this year. I thought it was going to be easy the night before opening day, but as it would turn out it was much tougher. With snow the first day of the hunt it Would seem as if I was destined too not get a turkey this year. I called in several turkey over the course of four days, and on the fourth day I finally got within shooting distance of a beautiful Tom. The bird ended up having a Nine Inch beard and a full fan.

Mia loved to play on the doll beds that grandpa and great grandpa made for Mikelle and Kassidee! She made a dang cute pose!!

The snow picture was taken in Feb. over her Uncle Alex's SWEET 16 birthday party up at great grandpa and grandma's cabin in Mount Pleasant.

For easter last weekend Mia colors eggs for the first time and enjoyed it! After Mia got done, mom gave her a bath and she had an orange steak across her belly! It stained her belly for a couple of days!!!

On Saturday, we got ready and went to the Washington City Veterans Park to the easter egg hunt. When Mia got in there, as soon as she found a sucker she was done, so I had to get in there and help her!!!

After the egg hunt we went to the Washington City Pool and did the "duckie drop". For Mia it was the "froggie drop". Mia had a hard time playing in the pool though. I don't think she liked kids splashing her.

And finally when we got home, we did our own easter egg hunt and Mia finally understood what to do!! But of course I didn't have the camera!

It was Mia's 1st Birthday on the 2nd. I can't believe how fast it has g0ne by. We celebrated her birthday on the Sept. 27th(saturday). We had a house full!!!! Mia got tons of clothes and toys. She was having a hard time sharing her toys with the Fife twins! But she did share! One of her favorites is the red wagon from Grandma Florence. She loves to ride in it. When it came time to eat her cake, she didn't know what to think. Her aunt Sheshe(Alecia) took her finger and pushed it into the cake. She still didn't want to touch it. Mia is pretty much like her mom when her mom was little, didn't like to be messy.

New Life

Almost 4 months ago we were blessed to have a baby girl named Mia Lynn. She is the joy of ours lives and wouldn't change anything about it.
Mia Lynn was born on October 2nd at 10:30 am. She has the looks of her mom and the personality of her dad. On New Years Eve, is when she discovered her laugh. A couple days later she discovered her hands and her voice. She loves to talk.
Mia has just recently started showing an interest in crawling. She can get her legs moving but her arms slow her down. She also is getting better at sitting up. Still a little wobbly but doing fine.
